AS SSD Benchmark Score Guides
A benchmark number is only useful if you know what it is made of. This hub explains how AS SSD Benchmark turns its sequential, 4K, 4K-64Thrd, and access-time measurements into the single total score, what each sub-score predicts about real-world behaviour, and — most importantly — how to judge whether your drive’s result is good for its class instead of comparing it against drives it was never meant to compete with.
The score formula, in simplified form
The total is a weighted combination of the read and write results. A widely used simplified form of the read score is:
Read score ≈ Seq × 0.1 + 4K + 4K-64Thrd
The write score is weighted similarly from its own sequential and 4K results, and the total combines the two. Treat this as a simplified explanation of the weighting — sequential speed contributes, but the 4K random results dominate, which is why the total tracks how responsive a system feels far better than the headline sequential number does. The full reasoning, with worked examples, is in the score guides below.
